WV’s $2.1 Billion Outdoor Economy

The West Virginia Outdoor Economy Summit is the state’s first cross-sector gathering dedicated to advancing our $2.1 billion outdoor economy. Hosted in Charleston, February 17–19, 2026, the Summit will bring together leaders from tourism, conservation, recreation, business, and public policy to collaborate and shape West Virginia’s outdoor future.

Over two days, attendees will engage in dynamic keynotes, collaborative plenaries, and interactive sessions across four tracks:

The Summit concludes with Outdoor Economy Day at the Capitol (Feb. 19), where businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders will connect with legislators to demonstrate the strength and potential of West Virginia’s outdoor economy.

Hosted by the WVU Brad & Alys Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative and The Nature Conservancy, and presented by the Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau, this is more than a conference — it’s a launchpad for ideas, partnerships, and impact.
